Getting started
When is Viewry available, and what does it need?
Viewry 1.0 is coming soon to the App Store. It runs on iPhone with iOS 27, iPad with iPadOS 27, Mac with macOS 27 and Apple Watch with watchOS 27. It's one Universal Purchase, and the Apple Watch app comes with the iPhone app.
Where do I start?
Pick a framework and a section in the library, open the API of the Day, or press ⌘K and type what you're looking for. On the Mac, the Welcome window and a short tour show you around, and Help › Show Welcome Tour replays the tour. What's New shows what changed after an update.
Do I need an account?
No. Viewry has no accounts and no servers. Collections sync through your own iCloud, and purchases go through your Apple Account.
Which languages is Viewry in?
English, German, Japanese, French, Spanish and Simplified Chinese, following the language you use on your device. To use another of these languages for Viewry only, choose it in Settings › Apps › Viewry › Language on iPhone and iPad, or under Applications in System Settings › General › Language & Region on the Mac.
Demos and code
How do the parameters and the code work together?
Every entry is a live demo with its parameters in the inspector (on iPhone, in a sheet). Change one and the demo updates, and so does its code, with the line that changed highlighted. Reset puts the demo back where it started.
How do I take the code with me?
Copy it, or save it as a .swift file with a #Preview, ready to drop into an Xcode project. With Viewry Pro you can also open any demo as a Swift Playgrounds app and keep building on iPad or Mac.
How do I see a demo in dark mode, at a bigger text size or right to left?
Use the environment switches in the canvas bar: light or dark, Dynamic Type up to AX5, right to left, another language, Increase Contrast, Reduce Motion and Bold Text. The same bar picks the device frame: iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch in 42 mm, 46 mm or Ultra 49 mm. They're set per window.
How do I get code for an older system?
With Viewry Pro, pick the oldest iOS, macOS or watchOS your app supports in the code drawer, for example Target iOS 17. The code then gets the if #available checks and fallbacks it needs for that target.
What do the availability badges mean?
They show the first version of each platform that has the API, so you can tell at a glance whether it's available to your app. Each entry also links to Apple's documentation and the WWDC sessions that cover it.
Labs, Recipes and Beta Season
What are the labs?
Three tools for how SwiftUI works, all part of Viewry Pro:
- Modifier Stack: add modifiers, drag them into a new order, and watch the result and the code update.
- Motion Lab: shape a spring or a timing curve on a live graph, with duration in seconds, bounce, response and damping, play it in 0.25× slow motion, and compare two side by side.
- Layout X-ray: see frames, padding, spacing and alignment guides in points, on any demo.
What are Recipes?
Complete screens to start from, with Viewry Pro: onboarding, settings, a paywall, an empty state, loading and showing remote data, persisting with SwiftData, an async image grid, debounced search and deep links.
What is Beta Season?
Each June, Viewry Pro adds the new APIs from WWDC, live while the betas run. The 2027 season starts at WWDC 2027. Beta APIs can still change before release, and their demos change with them.
Search and collections
How do I find an API quickly?
Press ⌘K for the command palette. Search forgives typos and understands initials. Demos also show up in Spotlight, Shortcuts and Siri can open them, and the API of the Day widget brings one to your Home Screen. On the Mac, Viewry Pro adds a menu bar lookup that finds any API and copies its code.
How do collections work?
Add the demos you need to a collection and write your own notes on them. Collections sync through your own iCloud to your other devices, including Apple Watch, and you can share a collection as a file. You can have three collections for free, and as many as you like with Viewry Pro.
My collections don't sync. What can I do?
Make sure you're signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account on each device, and that iCloud is turned on for Viewry in your iCloud settings. Collections can take a moment to appear on a new device. Still stuck? Email us.
Apple Watch
What can I do on Apple Watch?
Try watch demos live on your wrist: the Digital Crown, haptics, double tap, vertical paging, NavigationSplitView, toolbars and Always On. Add Viewry's complications and Smart Stack widgets, and see your collections. Show Code on iPhone and Send to Apple Watch move a demo between your watch and your phone.
Explain and adapt with AI
How do I set up the AI features?
Viewry explains demos and adapts their code with AI, using your own Anthropic API key; usage is billed to your Anthropic account. Create a key in the Anthropic Console, then add it in Viewry's Settings › AI. The key is stored in your Keychain, and you can remove it there at any time. Both features are part of Viewry Pro.
What gets sent to Anthropic?
Only the demo's code and your request, and only when you choose Explain or Adapt. It goes directly from your device to Anthropic's API with your key. Nothing passes through any Viewry server; there isn't one. The privacy policy has the details.
Purchases
What does Viewry Pro include?
The Modifier Stack, Motion Lab and Layout X-ray, code for older systems, Swift Playgrounds export, unlimited collections, Recipes, Beta Season, menu bar lookup on the Mac, and explaining and adapting code with AI (with your own Anthropic API key). How do I restore my purchase on another device?
Sign in to the App Store with the same Apple Account, then choose Restore Purchases on the Viewry Pro screen or in Settings › Viewry Pro. Pro unlocks on your iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
- iPhone or iPad: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Viewry.
- Mac: App Store › your name (bottom left) › Account Settings › Subscriptions › Manage.
